Requirements:

This is a hardy little tree and needs no special attention.

Maintenance:

Easy to maintain. Requires very little pruning.

Design Specs:

Not a common tree but nurseries do carry it. Specify it at about 50mm - 75mm trunk diameter and 3000mm overall height.

Comments:

Gustavia superba is a rarely used small tree growing to a height of about 3 - 4 meters. The tree has a dense round crown made up of large, dark green, shiny leaves. New leaves are a bronze color.

Flowers are very showy and have a strong, sweet scent. Gustavia flowers periodically throughout the year. After flowering, large round fruits are produced with flat tops.

Gustavia superba is a very slow growing tree.

Because of its short height and dense crown, Gustavia makes an excellent dense screen. We recently planted Gustavia at one of the Duta Nusantara show units.
